More than 400 guests joined us at Dancing for Little Stars held on Friday, April 12, 2013 at the Oshkosh Convention Center. Hosted by Parent Connection, the event is held each April in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, with all proceeds supporting the program’s early childhood education services.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and raffles, followed by the highlight of the evening: the 6th annual "Dancing for Little Stars" competition. This year, 12 groups and pairs of ‘local celebrities’ danced to raise money and awareness for child abuse prevention.
All of the dancers did a great job, entertaining the crowd with dances ranging from classical to hip-hop. In the end, Oshkosh Rotary Southwest came out on top as the biggest fundraisers, bringing in $5,540 through their participation in the event. The group also won for "Best Costume", while Emily Dieringer & Todd Christopherson were awarded the trophy for "Best Dance".
With the generous support of our dancers, sponsors, donors and guests, Dancing for Little Stars 2013 raised proceeds of more than $45,000 for child abuse prevention programs in the Oshkosh area. A special thank you to all who attended and/or supported the event!
