Dancing for Little Stars 2012!
A crowd of more than 300 guests joined us at Dancing for Little Stars 2012 held on Friday, April 20 at the Oshkosh Convention Center. Hosted by Parent Connection, the event is held each April in honor of Child Abuse Prevention Month, with all proceeds supporting the program’s early childhood education services.
Guests enjoyed hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction and raffles, followed by the highlight of the evening: the 5th annual "Dancing for Little Stars" competition. This year, 11 pairs and groups of ‘local celebrities’ danced to raise money for child abuse prevention. The top vote-getters/ fundraisers for 2012 were Lisa & Mike Scott, an Oshkosh couple who were dancing as a way to give back to the community they call home. In their words, "If our dancing can improve the lives of children in our area and put a smile on a few people’s faces, we are excited to help!"
With the generous support of our dancers, sponsors, donors and guests, Dancing for Little Stars 2012 raised proceeds of just over $26,000 for child abuse prevention programs in Oshkosh and the Fox Valley. A special thank you to all who supported and/or helped plan the event!
