The
Torture and Refugee Recovery Center was formed in response to the widespread occurrence of torture
and trauma among refugees, asylum seekers, and immigrants to the United
States. It is our purpose to work to alleviate the fear, guilt, and shame
that torture inflicts on the sufferer. We also strive to develop community
understanding to provide the support that is an important part of
recovery.
