Teen Court of Brown County

Works in conjunction with the Brown County District Attorney's Office

JOIN TEEN COURT:

Thank you for your interest in becoming a Teen Court volunteer. Volunteers will need to be available for court on some Tuesday and Thursday evenings. All volunteers will attend a three-hour training session. Lawyers will attend an attorney training session as well. Volunteers also need to agree to the following:

I will act with maturity at court and promote law-abiding behavior when acting as representatives of the program.
I will reply promptly to any communication (phone calls, letters, etc.) from the Teen Court staff. I will follow the Attendance Policy.
I will be professional in appearance and behavior. No hats, shorts, tank tops or torn or inappropriate clothing. No gum chewing, soda or food allowed in the courthouse. No smoking in the courthouse or on the grounds.
I will take my responsibilities seriously and abide by the Oath of Confidentiality. I understand that if I break the Oath of Confidentiality I may be charged with contempt of court and will be relieved of my volunteer duties.
If photos are taken at Teen Court sessions or events, I give permission for staff to use these photos for promotional purposes such as press releases, newspaper articles, or presentations.
I understand that if I do not comply with these conditions, my right to participate in Teen Court may be revoked.
It is further agreed that the undersigned do hereby compromise and forever release, acquit, discharge, indemnify and covenant to hold harmless, the Teen Court staff and volunteers, the County of Brown, Wisconsin, its employees and officials, and Family Services from any and all action, claims, liability, demands, damages, costs, loss of service, medical expense and compensation, on account of or in any way growing out of any and all known and unknown personal injuries, property damage, or any other type of damage, which the undersigned may hereinafter have, individually and/ or as a parent/guardian or custodian of said minor, resulting or growing out of the participation of the youth in the Teen Court program of Brown County.

This agreement will also be read and explained to you by the Teen Court staff at the training.
