Teen Court of Brown County

Volunteer Attendance Policy

The following policy is in effect for all Teen Court volunteers: Volunteers need to be responsible for keeping track of their scheduled dates, which are mailed every three months from Teen Court staff. Not showing up for scheduled volunteer dates or a late cancellation will be seen as a lack of commitment to Teen Court. In the event that a volunteer would have three no-shows and/or late cancellations, a determination will need to be made by the volunteer and the Teen Court staff as to whether or not the volunteer should continue their service to Teen Court.

The definition of a late cancellation is as follows:

For a Tuesday court date: Canceling after 8:00 am on Monday, the day before court, will be considered a late cancellation.

For a Thursday court date: Canceling after 8:00 am on Wednesday, the day before court, will be considered a late cancellation.

The Teen Court staff realizes that volunteers are busy with school, jobs, sports, other volunteer work, etc., but in order for Teen Court to be successful the staff needs to know that volunteers are committed to showing up for scheduled dates and cannot spend hours of their time finding last-minute replacements. We are willing to work around your seasonal commitments if you let us know IN ADVANCE.

The Teen Court staff acknowledges that some conflicts arise with no prior warning and will examine each of these situations accordingly. Thank you for your part in making Teen Court of Brown County a success!
