Families
First
Brown
County
Initiated in 2002, Families First works in collaboration with Brown County Human Services to offer prevention and
intervention services to families in our community. Families First provides
intensive case management services aimed at increasing family safety and
stability. Three distinct types of
case management are provided to Brown County families:
Support - Families experiencing
difficulties or crisis receive an assessment and assistance in accessing
resources
throughout the community.
Preservation
- Families who are at-risk of having a child removed from their
home participate in an assessment and set
short-term goals aimed at building on the family’s strengths and removing
barriers to success.
Reunification - Families who
have had a child removed from the home participate in an assessment and set
goals in
preparation for the child’s return home.
All
referrals for Families First are received through the Brown County Human
Services Child Protection Unit. For more information about Families First,
contact Valerie Wozniak at 920-436-4360 ext. 1273.
